In some cases it is not sufficient just to delete SCOUT as OLE server when you have finished your work. You might get access violation errors and corresponding message dialogs which prevent SCOUT from proper closing. In order to avoid this you should call the method prepare_shutdown as last OLE command before you shutdown the server.
