The color coordinates L*,a*,b* (CIELAB) are computed according to DIN 5033. They are based on X,Y,Z (see above).

If the arguments of the cubic roots are smaller than 0.008856 then the cubic root is replaced by the expression 7.787*argument+16/116 .
