Coating Designer (CODE)

CODE is a thin film design software running under Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000. It is based on SCOUT (which means it contains all SCOUT features) and includes additional features important for optical thin film design:

Technical data like

• Color coordinates (X,Y,Z, x,y,z, L,a,b, L*,a*.b*, Dominant wavelength, Purity)
• Presentation of spectra in the x-y-color plane
• On-screen visualization of colors
• Solar direct transmission or reflection
• Light transmittance and reflectance
• Spectrum product (Integrals over products of simulated spectra and user-defined data sets)

All quantities are instantly updated as the model changes, also in combination with parameters varied by mouse sliders. This is a very powerful feature giving deep insight into the influence of parameters like layer thicknesses on the performance of your product.

Optical monitoring: CODE creates useful charts for thin film analysis and deposition control

• Reflectance vs. total thickness during deposition of a layer stack
• Reflectance vs. time during deposition of a layer stack
• Reflectance vs. time during etching of a layer stack

To support the design of coatings for architectural applications the user can visualize a virtual office tower equipped with the newly designed window product.
